When You Make a New Purchase, Do you Consider Buying Locally?
The Monroe County Chamber of Commerce has started a Buy Local Campaign in Monroe County.  The program asks that people consider shifting 5% of their out of town expenditures back to the local economy.  Take a moment to consider where you make your purchases.  Do you go to Detroit, Toledo or purchase online?  Why not consider Monroe County, the City of Monroe and Downtown Monroe before making that purchase.  The Campaign requests that people consider buying locally when price, quality, service and availability are comparable to what you would receive elsewhere.  To learn more about the Buy Local Campaign and the benefits of buying locally visit http://www.anchorservices.com/buylocal/

Wireless Internet
Downtown Monroe has wireless capabilities.  There are several hotspot areas throughout downtown that are internet ready.   After paying a fee for connecting, you can surf the internet for hours, months, or years at a time.  This asset can be utilized by residents, business owners, customers, or anyone enjoying the downtown area.  The Monroe County Convention & Tourism Bureau, McGeady’s Town Pub and Café Classics all offer FREE wireless internet.
